While I would continue to work on connecting the remote tools becuase there
is a lot of value in knowing how to use them, last night I posted a Windows
CE registry editor to my blog that you can use if you have the .NET
CompactFramework installed on the device.

I am running Visual Studio 2005/Wince 6.0.
I have an x86 BSP that successfully boots CE on my target system.
On my target system I have 2 serial ports and a working Ethernet
connection with a static IP address.
I am (finally!) able to debug a test app from Visual Studio 2008 using
my ethernet connection and conmanclient2 and cmaccept.
I need the ability to look at the registry on my target system
and this seems like it would require Remote tools capability
from my VS 2005 system BSP system.
So far I cannot get this to work.
I have ActiveSync 4.5 installed but I don't think this works
over Ethernet.
Since I am able to debug using the ethernet connection
I would think that this is sufficient for getting the Remote Registry
Editor
up and connected. Perhaps not. There seems to be a lot of conflicting
info out there...
Do I need Kitl?
Do I need to use a serial port?
Thanks!
Mark
