C.J. are you the end user, the board vendor, the custom FPGA vendor?
Knowing what your background is would help us help you. Paul has been doing
a good job of trying, but clearly if you don't want to provide any more
information than you have, we can't help you much more.
You know way more about your system than any of us do. Not all CE devices
are equal.

So this has NOTHING to do with hard reset at all, correct? You still are
resisting telling us much. It's a PCMCIA card? It's a USB device? It's
an SDIO card? It's on an internal PCI bus in the device?
I'd bet that the registry is wrong. Have you verified that the correct
entries, as set by your installer for WM5, are also set in the WM6
install?
Other alternatives: the driver depends on some other DLL or API that
doesn't exist in the WM6 device, either because you didn't build it
correctly or because you were counting on something that isn't there any
more at all, the hardware in this particular WM6 device doesn't support
some aspect of your card identification or operation that the old WM5
device that you tried did support (a power supply voltage, a particular
CIS structure, whatever).

The device driver supports custom hardware for an fpga / 433 Mhz
transceiver
It works fine on a Mobile 5 device.
On a Mobile 6 device, upon insertion, power lights blinks, (reading
tuples)
and device.exe says 'unrecognised card', so type in driver name, No power
lights, nothing, no error messages, machine just carrys on doing what it
was
doing.
Remove card and re insert, and exactly same sequence, Power lights flash,
ask for driver name, etc.
There is NO security on the PDA, it's all turned off, so it's not a case
of
signing

OK, and you now have your answer or not? I'm not sitting there with you

we don't know what you expect or what the problem is, so you have to

us! So far, we have no information to help you.

Yes, it was a Hard reset on the PDA, and YES it clears everything.
The 'Device driver' is a physical driver for a device, in fact a usb
and
serial bridge chip to compact flash interface.

That's not much information, is it? "a device driver"? What about
this
"hard reset" thing:? You did the hard reset and immediately after
that
the
device driver was not working? That's no suprise, since the hard
reset
would remove anything, programs, device drivers, files, registry
entries,
that's not in ROM (that's what "hard reset" means). If that's not
what
it
means, you have to tell us. We cannot read minds...

I am trying to get a device driver that works fine on a PDA running
Mobile
5
to install correctly, on a \pda running Mobile 6.
It has worked before, but i had to do a hard reset, so obviosuly a
setting
has got changed.
Any thoughts anyone ?
