ftpd byte length and folders

Hi,
Using CE6 R2 under VS2005
Built an image with ftpd enabled and can access on the target using
anonymous login.
Using 'WS_FTP Pro' as a client - which works perfectly well for any other
ftp site ever visited ;-).
1. All files from CE Target display as 0KB in length
2. Virtual root folders display as 0KB Binary File
3. Click on the folder and it won't open (probably as the client doesn't
know its a folder I guess.
4. Type the folder name in the folders bar and it opens correctly
5. Can send and receive files, and can View remote files.
So - is there something in the format of the data being returned by the CE
ftpd which makes ftp clients fail to interpret it correctly ??.
NB Also tried a downloaded cuteFTP and this doesn't even show any remote
files .
Thanks
Graham
