Re: Plan to build a CE6 Boot loader for S3C2440 platform

Thanks. I'll begin to port the CE 5.0 boot loader to CE 6.0.

Start with the CE 5.0 bootloader. IIRC, the changes for CE 6.0 are minor,
and are mostly to the sources file. Compare the installed BSPs to yours.

I only have CE 5.0 BSP for this Samsung S3C2440A SOC Evaluation Board. So I
plan to impelement a boot loader following the CE 6.0 BSP framework. I
have
bought two pcs of the S3C2440A EVB. It is a simple board but with just
enough
functions: 400MHz CPU, 64MB SDRAM, 64MB NAND, 2MB NOR, 3.5" TFT LCD
w/Touch
Screen, COM ports, USB ports, Ethernet, Audio, Cam, IrDA, JTag interfaces
and
CE 5.0, Linux 2.6 support. I bought it for US$160 per pcs. I like it very
much.

Please give me further advise how to start the CE6.0 boot loader project?

Do you already have a bootloader for that CPU? For CE 6.0? What is your
starting point? If you don't have a reference BSP for a board with that
CPU, you should get one.

I plan to build a CE6 boot loader for S3C2440A platform from scratch.
The
purpose of this self project is just for learning. Would anybody give
me
some
advises?

1. Usually how many man-hours would it take for an average-skill
firmware
engineer to finish this project?

2. Do I need to "clone" one of the sample BSP's in WinCE 6.0? Which
one?

3. After cloning, how do I get an empty and clean development platform
for
the planned project from scratch?
