Re: Platform Builder freezes when building

The problem with the download is the cache size setting in IE. Increase the cache size and restart the download. If you read the text on the download page it even tells you how to do this and to what size you have to set it to.

Windows Vista is not a supported OS for Platform Builder. So it may or may not work well on Vista.

You don't supply much information for us to assist you. Don't expect the build process to be quick, and do expect that it will look like it isn't doing anything for minutes at a time.

How long did it "freeze" before you decided that it was a problem?
What was displayed in the build output at the time, or the end of build.log?
Do you have administrative rights?
Do you have an anti virus app monitoring for changes in the build tree? - that would be bad.

I would order the CE 6.0 evaluation CD, just a few US dollars. (https://ms.kpcorp.com/WinEmbedded/AspxFiles/Home.aspx)
