So, you're an *application* programmer? If so, you don't want Windows
Embedded CE 6.0 anyway. You want an application development environment.
You can use eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0, Visual Studio .NET 2003, Visual Studio
2005, or Visual Studio 2008, depending on what your target devices are.
Obviously, if you only know something about Basic and are intimidated by
C/C++, your choices are more-limited (Visual Studio versions only).
No matter what you choose, you'll then need to install the SDK for your
target hardware. You can download the Pocket PC and SmartPhone SDKs from
the Microsoft site. Once you have those installed, you're ready to begin.
However, none of your existing code will work. The language that eMbedded
Visual Basic used is no longer supported and none of the current options is
compatible. You'll have to rewrite everything. You can use Visual Basic
..NET in any of the Visual Studio versions to target the .NET Compact
Framework (a standard framework like .NET Framework on the desktop, which
can be used with either C# or VB.NET). Your old project is unusable.

Hi
I previously worked with embedded VB 2.0 for PPC.
I installed Windows embedded CE 6.0.
There is no IDE in the windows CE 6 window.
How do I launch windows CE 6??
Can it import old PPC projects??
Thanks
Clive
