Re: Bios Boot Loader error

I was wondering if you have installed the BLDR file built by the debug OS
IDE so my question if bldr.exe were
not cut by romimage. anyway you can play with DEBUG_OPTIONS in sources file
and try to understand what
is happening

Sorry, probably I didn't explain it well.
I've built the OS, not the biosloader.

so are you building a debug biosloader? are you sure it fits in the
settings
specified in the boot.bib file?

Hi Luca,
I formatted my disk with the /S option, and can perform a
DOS boot perfectly.
I've not installed any other kind of bootloader before.

I used the following Buil option when I built
-enable eboot
-enable full kernel mode
-enable kernel debugger
-RunTime image can be more than 32MB

any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Dario

have you done something to the disk before, i.e. installed another
bootloader?
I do not understand the order of the error messages: I would expect
that
the
loader fails as soon
as it does not recognize the filesystem.

Hello!
I'm tryng to boot an image of a standard Internet appliance
(accepted
all the default) using PB 5.00. Built it in release or debug mode
...
with
no error.
I copied this image on a miniIDE disk (partitioned, formatted,
mkdisked...)
On disk I copied also boot.ini and eboot.bix.
At power on it displays

Booting Operating system
Microsoft windows CE Bios Bootloader

then appears the windows ce logo and nothing else.

On serial debug port:
Microsoft Windows CE BIOS Bootloader Version 2.2 (Built Mar 13 2004)

INFO: code=0x4.

INFO: code=0x4.

WARNING: code=0x5.

ERROR: code=0x1. (Unknown file system)
ERROR: code=0x3. (Couldn't read root directory sector)
ERROR: code=0x8. (Failed to load BIN image)

What I've already done:
READ_BUFFER_LENGHT_MAX TO 0X3000 (AND REBUILD -> 20kB)
SET bINfILE=nk.BIN (MY kERNEL NAME) IN BOOT.INI
the disk is a 256 MB, with 1 FAT 16 active partition.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!!!
Dario
