Has anyone had their Ethernet port "Lockup"?

Inside of our device, we have a 6 port Marvell switch chip, one port
of which is wired to a SMSC Ethernet chip. The device we are working
on is having a very unusual issue. After running our software (99.9%
of which is managed compact framework) on it for a few minutes, the
Ethernet port seems to stop accepting incoming data. This is easily
seen while keeping a constant ping on it. When this happens, no
inbound traffic can be seen to enter our software (using ActiveSync
and the performance monitor).

Now it gets better... Our software has a TLS socket open for
communication, and remains open over the life of execution. Once
every minute some data gets sent out, and when this happens, inbound
Ethernet data can once again be received (Our ping will get a response
again). Later on, the Ethernet will drop out again, thus repeating
the cycle. If the TLS connection is not enabled, once the ping drops
out, it will never come back up again. This is especially exciting
since it is happening during our Formal Qualification Test.

If our software is not running, the port does not seem to shut down
incoming traffic. I wrote a small test application that resides on
the device that pings out once every minute, and this, seems to clear
up the dropout, of course that is not a real solution.

Anyone out there have an issue similar to this or know what could be
causing it?

Thanks,
Tom
