Hi,
Thanks for the replies, some of them have been really good to let me
understand better how Windows CE development works.
I actually want to be able to develop "compact framework like
applications" (managed code) for industrial devices, and for
industrial environments. Don't want a technician to carry a PDA, just
want a powerful miniPC (taking up very little space) to run useful and
visually "rich" applications. Don't see .NET MicroFramework as the
ideal candidate for this job....
In fact, I was thinking in using a miniPC running Windows CE (eBox for
example) to run robotics services developed with Microsoft Robotics
Studio. In order to run them, all needed is the device to have CF 2.0
SP2 installed, so I suppose I could install CF 2.0 SP2 without
problems in these kind of devices.
I'm now imagining a real robot carrying an eBox that runs Windows CE,
with a touch screen connected that lets a user start/stop robotic
services from a Compact Framework application. Sounds interesting, or
not?
By the way, do all devices running Windows CE allow touch-screen
functionality?
Other possibility would be to use Windows CE over Gumstix board, just
like Gumstix III project does: http://www.codeplex.com/GumstixIII
Miguel.
