Re: {newbie} Help getting an NK.BIN image running on a x86 DOS mac

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

"Jumping to xxxxx" isn't a specific problem. It's simply the last message
displayed by the loader. If you get no other feedback from the OS or tools,
then something has gone wrong or you have a configuration that doesn't
result in any additional feedback. The loader has jumped to the entry point
of the OS image, and it's now up to the OS image to do something useful.

Make sure you do a full debug build. If you don't get any messages at all,
then you have a problem with your debug connection.

Hey David,

I was just wondering if you ever found the cause/solution for the "Jumping
to 0x0013C0DC" problem. I don't have a hive based registry, so I don't
think
that's the issue.

Thanks in advance

I'm posting the links here for other helpless newbies like me. :-D

Hi gang,

I'm trying to evaluate WinCE 6.0 for an upcoming project. For
evaluation
purposes, I was thinking to use an ordinary PC to simulate my final
"target"
device, which will contain a PC/104 single-board computer running an
x86
compatible CPU.

I'm getting frustrated sifting through all the Microsoft documentation,
and
can't seem to find a decent example to help get me started, so I was
hoping
some kind and patient soul could steer me in the right direction. :-)

On my "development" PC (which is running Win2K), I downloaded and
installed
the evaluation version of WinCE 6.0 from Microsoft's website, and I
successfully set up a test Solution (using the Platform Builder 6.0
wizard),
compiled and built an NK.BIN file using Visual Studio 2005, using the
"CEPC
x86 Debug" configuration. Supposedly this image is ready to be
executed
on
an x86 target.

So now I'm ready to test the image that I built, and this is where I'm
stuck. What's the recommeded way to execute the NK.BIN file on my
"target"
PC? I guess I need to launch some program on the target that will load
and
run the .BIN image...but I can't find documentation in Visual Studio
that
tells me how to do it. Can someone give me some tips?

By the way, my "target" PC is a standard Pentium 3 PC, which includes a
standard ethernet card, hard disk, video card, monitor, keyboard,
mouse,
serial ports, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

David K
