Hi,
if you boot from a USB disk, you might have problems that your USB drivers
don't work properly in CE. If your purpose is evaluation, you can use the
loadcepc.exe program to launch your ce image from dos. You could make your
PC dual boot, so that you can choose between XP or Dos boot. You will loose
a lot of time if you work that way. You are better off with a separate pc
that run's your CE image. That way, you can use your development pc to
capture the debug output which you will need. (Trust me.)
Even if you have a PC with all CE supported devices (like network, video and
sound adapters), it will take you a lot of time to get a proper running CE
OS on it, if you don't have a BSP package for it.
regards,
Luc

Hi All,
I am new to WIN CE development and have to make a driver for one USB
device. I have the following doubts.
1) The targeted version is CE4.2. From where I can download PB4.2 and
CE4.2. Does any one has any link for the same.
2) As there is no 4.2 download from MS site, can I use CE5.0 and PB
5.0 initially and later move to 4.2 once I purchase the same.
3) Is there a difference in 4.2 and 5.0 driver architecture, at least
for USB
4) Initially I want to run CE on normal X86 PC. But my PC don't have a
floppy drive. Does any one succeeded in using USB/hard disk for boot
loader.
Thanks
Suja
