Re: Wireless client card for windows ce 5.0

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Yes I mean "Transmit power" because the cisco aironet 350 has a transmit
power of 100mW (20 dbm) and the results were excelent. More than 100 meters
indoor with heavy maquinary working arround.
With the socket wifi p500 I get 75 meters and the 10% of pings are loss.

There is no much wireless client cards that support windows ce 5.0.
At the moment the only I know is the socket wifi p500 and the summit you say
in your link.

Thanks for your help.

"Transmit power", you mean? You can get all sorts of different power
cards from Demarc Tech. www.demarctech.com. Summit Data Communications,
www.summitdatacom.com, has CF cards that use external antennas, which
would be likely to improve your range, too. There's a lot more to radio
range than just transmit power...

Hello,

I am using a cisco aironet 350 wireless client car with my Windows ce.net
4.1 device.

The output power of that client car is 100mW and I get a very large range
of coverage area.

With my new windows ce 5.0 device I have to use a Socket wifi p500 CF
client card and the range I get isn't as good as with the cisco.

Somebody knows a good client wireless card to use with windows ce 5.0 and
that have an output power near to 100mW (20 dbm).

Thanks.
