Re: NETCF2 included but not built

I just found this thread and am experiencing the same problem:
- all PB updates applied
- .netcf2(SP1) included in platform
- sysgen variables look ok
- no .Net CF files or settings make it into the build
Has a solution been found?
TIA

Sounds like it's time to use one of the support events that you got when you.
bought Platform Builder and call Microsoft. I can't think of anything else,
except tracing what SYSGEN_DOTNETV2 does and making sure that some modules
get added as a result of it being set.

Yes... Which drive me mad
The "SYSGEN_DOTNETV2" symbol do exist in my Project_SetEnv.bat, the
cesysgen file, and the file __IABASE_FEATURES, this very symbol is set
to 1 in all above.
As for Platform builder 4.2, the whole 2005 Yearly update and all the
2006 monthly update have been executed.
I'm so freak out, full of desperation

That same symbol would not be added. The .NET CF 2.0 control symbol is
something like SYSGEN_DOTNETV2. You should be able to trace through the
build files in the .NET CF 2.0 folder under PUBLIC to see what that
results
in. I'm running out of reasonable ideas. You did *add* the component to
the OS configuration, right? It's not just in the catalog but not in
your
build (shows up in the FeatureView in PB)?

Thanks, Paul
I've my ceconfig.h checked. After .Net Compact Framework 1.0's added, I
can find the definition "#define NETCF_MODULES_DOTNET 1", and nothing
happened after the NETCF2's added.
What's up? So confused, :(

You might verify that the correct SYSGEN variable is set in your
ceconfig.h
file found in the flat release folder after a build. That would
indicate,
at least, that you have correctly added the .NET CF 2.0 item to your
build.

I've re-generate the headers and rebuild the platform, still not
working

I havn't actually included CF2SP1 in a CE4.2 image myself, but it
sounds strange that you don't get anything at all into the image.
Have
you done a "sysgen" after you added it?
Also, the monthly updates are not cumulative, so you should really
apply the yearly updates plus all monthly updates up until june,
rather
than just apply isolated ones like the june update I mentioned.

Previously, Henrik Viklund give me a hint that in the monthly
update
of
June, the Platform builder 4.2 has .net compact framework 2.0
included.
That helps a lot, after I update my PB, I simply add .net
framework
2.0
from the category to my workspace, no error occured.
But after a rebuild of the platform(ARMV4I targeted), no NETCF2
could
be founded under the RealDir, neither in my target CE system
after a
successful OS image download.
I've got .Net framework installed on my host PC, and the cab file
unpacked from the installation of that works fine in the target
Windows
CE 4.2, so what's up?
I have noticed that in the release notes of June update,
Microsoft
points out
"Note:
Dependencies for .NET CF 2.0 are not displayed. This should
not
affect the build."
Anything I can do to add the netcf2 into the target system in
build
time? Thank you for your reply
