I can't install Pocket Pc 2002 SDK

I can't install Pocket Pc 2002 SDK on my Windows XP Professional SP2. I have been trying it for a week: every time I run the SDK setup, it fails when registering platform components... and ends with a rollback.
I have disabled the PAE mode in Boot.ini, I have disabled the firewall and antivirus too... without success. I have been uninstalling visual studio 2003 and VS 2005, and intalling the embedded visual tools... but without success too.
I must install PPC 2002 SDK because I need to modify a two years old application; VB.NET 2005 is not a valid solution...
Please, help!
