Re: Wifi key ?

Hey, you DEFINITELY don't want to wait for me to help you with this
(remember, no one here works for Microsoft and, frankly, even if we did,
finding a USB/WiFi adapter for you wouldn't be our job). This one is your
responsibility. If it were me, Google "802.11 usb driver "windows ce"" and
see if you can find anything that will work for you. If not, forget USB and
look for another method of connecting the WiFi to your hardware, SDIO might
be possible, although the only SDIO adapter that I was aware of went away,
too. At that point, you could hire someone to write a driver for a USB
stick that you like, redesign your hardware with an interface for which you
can get a card that has a CE driver (Summit Data Communications has an OEM
module that you could wire directly to your device bus), or, as you said,
use an external Ethernet-to-wireless adapter.

Ok thanks Paul.
I'm not very satisfied because i already have an ethernet adapter on my
product.
With your solution, is it possible to add an ethernet - Wifi adapter ? But
it comes very hard to install !

But the Wifi key USR was ideal for viewing Wifi network.
Excuse me if my english is bad!

Waiting for news if you get some information... about an other wifi key or
alternative solution.

I should have noted that this is wired LAN, not WiFi, of course. There
just aren't many USB-based WiFi products out there with CE drivers. The
effort to support CE is substantial and the sales potential is pretty
small, compared to XP/Vista. We need someone, as Summit Data
Communications has done with Compact Flash/PCMCIA, to come out with an
embedded-targeted USB WiFi device and really support it.

Here's a message from another thread in .app.development. It gives an
alternative USB stick with Windows CE drivers.

Hi,

You can purchase a USB-to-LAN adapter with WinCE driver support to get
an
Ethernet connection with your PC. The following are some available
ASIX's
USB-to-LAN solutions in the market for your reference. You can download
the
latest ASIX's USB-to-LAN WinCE 5.0/6.0 drivers from ASIX's web site
(http://www.asix.com.tw/products.php?op=ProductList&PLine=71) directly.

All ASIX's USB-to-LAN drivers were qualified on ASIX's USB-to-LAN demo
boards with ASIX's default VID/PID. If these drivers couldn't work with
your
USB-to-LAN adapter, you might need to contact the manufacturer's support
guys
to get the correct driver. Hope this information is helpful for you to
solve
your issue soon.

USR has not released *any* more USB RNDIS devices, so pick *any*
model and it won't work. There are no other USB RNDIS devices out
there that I've ever found. You need to find a supplier that has a
driver themselves that will work. You can't count on some built-in
driver that comes with Windows CE to work with *any* device out
there.

Hello,

Have you heard about a Wifi key (a wifi stick) which is working
on windows CE.

I use the US Robotics USR5421 but we can't find this key anymore!
This key use the rndis driver.

Thanks for your help.

I am not shure, but FUNKWERK in Germany provide an CE-working
wifi-tick
