Doug's posting (as he guessed) and later didn't remove that part so this
statement wasn't even aimed at you. Sorry, my mistake.
Anyhow, the technique of dropping your statements without context and then
quoting a full copy of the former mail is known as top-posting. I find this
an annoyance, because it makes things harder to read - you often need to
scroll down and the guess what exactly the other person is relating to. In
other words top-posting makes conversations often less efficient.
BTW, I don't claim that interspersing the answers with the context is the
only true way, but it's harder to lose context that way than with
top-posting, which is why I generally advocate this style. There are cases
though where it isn't appropriate.
