I would also be interested to know for sure. Looking at the license
agreement on the download site it appears to be allowed, but it rambles on
so long about 'redistributing the resitributables' that my head explodes
when I read it.
I have seen that others do this, which of course doesn't make it right. The
other issue of course is that it adds 2.5Mb onto a download, which anyone
pre-2003 won't need. If customers don't read your readme (or my web link or
manual that says the same thing) will they download the correct version if
you give them the choice?
It would get around having to update the links when MS move the download
site like they did back in July. But where can we get official (i.e. enough
to risk distributing MS's copyright code) confirmation from?
