I sure haven't needed to do this. Disabling USB in Files->Connection
Settings is sufficient.

What you mean saying "enable the connection for the guest"?

In the ActiveSync window on the guest, go to File->Connection Settings
and make sure USB is enabled. Also, make sure you've installed and
enabled USB for the guest (VM->Settings... in the VMWare Console).

Hi all!

I've a problem using ActiveSync (via USB) to connect to my Windows CE 5.0
device (a custom device).

I'm connecting from a VMWARE Workstation 6 with XP pro SP2 installed on it.
I've installed ActiveSync 4.5 on this machine, but I cannot connect to the
device using USB. (the target device can be reached only by USB)

If I try to use the host PC (instead of the virtual machine), I can connect
to the device wiyh ActiveSync.

Any ideas about the reason that don't let me connect from virtual machine.

It's been a while. But you may need to disable the ActiveSync USB
connection for the host. I know you need to enable the connection for
the guest.

Thanks
CM
