Automatic recovery of device

Is there a way using the Active Sync API or some other mechanism to
automatically reinstall an application and all of its registry settings
if the device loses its memory? I know you can do a backup and
recovery, but want something that I can use to adminstrate dozens of
PPC devices automatically once they are plugged in to the active sync
cradle.
