Obviously it doesn't happen in most cases or all the questions in this group
would be about it. I've *never* seen this behavior, so it's something you
are doing. Did you do a *complete* install of eVC on this new system, or
pick some pieces to install and some to leave out? What processor is the
new system using? What operating system? Please note that not every latest
operating system is supported by eVC (Windows Server, for example). If
these systems are all Dual Core processors, try it with that turned off.
Are you an administrative user when you install eVC and the SDK? You must
be. What about when you are running eVC? Administrative user?
I can't read your mind. Maybe you generated your SDK targeting Visual
Studio, not eVC. Again, I've never seen that message, so it's something you
are doing wrong.
It's an *emulator*! You can't expect it to run like it's running natively
on the processor in your device running at full speed. Yes, it will always
be slower than the real device (at least I've never seen it run as fast as a
real device).

I tried to install eVC on a new computer and it did the same thing. I have
also tried SDK from a ARM PC manufacuter and it also did the same thing.
When I install MyCEPCOSDesign_SDK.msi, I got a message saying that native
code development tool is not installed in the develpment station. I then
went
to mirosoft home page based on the link it provides, eVC is a native code
development tool, so I have it, but why does it give me that message?
Could
that be the cause of the problem? I would like to attach the screen shot
to
this message but I don't know how to do this in the forum.
Anther question, in eVC right now my default device is STANDARDSDK
Emulator,
the executable file can run on my targe PC (That is the only .exe file I
can
build now). But it seems slow, so in emulator, what kind of clock is it
using? When I took this .exe file to a real pc, does it still run the same
clock as the simulator and not the actual prcoessor clock?
Thanks for the help.

OK, my best guess is that eVC is damaged. You should uninstall it, clear
its directory, etc., scan the registry for any references to the old
install
directory and delete them, etc. Then install it again, making sure to
install the right set of processors, etc. If you might have installed
eVC
several times before, take particular care with the registry search phase
to
look for any locations where eVC might have been installed before. A
left-over entry can be pointing eVC to something left-over from one of
those
earlier installs that has been undone or whatever.
I guess that, if you really want to delay this step, you could do some
things to make sure it's not your SDK that's the problem, by adding, say,
one of the Pocket PC or SmartPhone SDKs and checking to see if you can
build
programs for that target, but I'm betting that this won't indicate much
to
you.

Yes, it does the same thing.

OK, let's forget entirely about trying to use any existing projects.
Use
New... to create a new Hello, World application with the wizard and
make
sure that the processor(s) used on your new platform are in the list
of
those supported by the new project. After the application is
generated,
select your platform from the target platform drop-down list (not the
Standard SDK version of your platform, which is probably there, too,
but
the
real honest-to-goodness platform), select the <YourPlatform> Device
from
the
target device drop-down list and see where, if at all, things fail.

I followed the platform builder tutorial "Builder a Run-Time image
for a
CEPC" and generated a SDK. Yes, then I installed the SDK with out
eVC
running. I launched eVC and load an application built on standard
SDK
which
can run in emulator. Then I go to Build->Set Active Platform..., I
have
two
WINCE platform listed, STANDARDSDK and MyCEPCOSDesign. I picked
MyCEPCOSDesign and clicked OK. Then it locks up. That's how it
happens.
Thanks for your help.

Please post more details. I don't *load* my SDK in any sense that
I
can
think of. You installed the SDK (while eVC was *not* running,
right?).
What version of PB? What version and what service packs of eVC?
What
sort
of a device is it? Headless? Headed?

I built a CEPC SDK by using platform builder. However when I try
to
load
it
in embedded visual c++, it locks up. Any suggestions?
