The easiest way is to verify that your board support package sends the debug
messages somewhere else or nowhere at all.

Did you go through the steps of setting up a connectoid for the AS
connection? I just get the feeling that you haven't followed the required
steps. I've covered setting this up for serial connection before. At a
guess, it was probably in microsoft.public.windowsce.platbuilder. You can
search using GoogleGroups (you might search microsoft.public.windowsce.* to
cover all the groups I normally read).
