Enable voice record feature in PPC 2003 emulator?

Is it possible to enable the voice record feature in the PPC 2003
emulator? The display shows a record button on the device. Also, if you
run 'Notes', a 'record' icon appears in the notes window. Clicking it
causes the record control panel to appear. Clicking on the record button
causes the time indicator to move to the right.

When you stop recording, however, the play button is not enabled. Is it
possible to route a pc's microphone to the audio input of the emulated
device?
