Windows update keeps installing the same update over and over

Windows update keeps installing the same update over and over.It always says the update was successfully installed yet within 2 minutes windows update wants to install the same update again. I have gone directly to Microsoft to check for updates and it shows me needing the same update yet in the update history it shows the update successfully installed at least 10 times. The update is Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x86 . What is happening here?
