Re: Can't start computer after latest update

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for Windows Vista, but only for Service Pack 2 (SP2). This support for Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) is valid until November 26, 2009. Availability of chat or e-mail support differs depending on your geographic location. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?prid=13014&gprid=582034 & select appropriate category (i.e., Download issue; Installation issue; Issues after you install a service pack).

You'll find additional support for Vista SP2 issues in microsoft.public.windows.vista.general newsgroup and in these forums:

Hello Thomas,

Vista, Vista SP1, or Vista SP2?

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the
computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista

this thursday when I turned my computer off it answered that there were a
few updates to configure. It took longer than usual, but since it always
turns itself off after the configuration, I left it running. In the
morning, when I booted the PC, it answered as it usually does, but before
the welcome screen appears, it showed a screen, saying: "Configuring
updates, step 3 of 3, 0 % ready. Don't turn off the computer" (but in
Swedish). Shortly thereafter, it re-booted itselt, showed the same text
again, rebooted etc.
I can't access my computer in any way. If I choose to start in the safe
mode, it still runs towards the updates-text mentioned above, and then
re-boots itself.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic on a Packard Bell computer.

Please help me!
