cW,
Did you run the System Update Readiness Tool ?
If yes, then run it again and please post the logs it generates into your response:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
Logging
The System Update Readiness Tool creates a log file that captures any issues that the tool found or fixed. The log file is located at the following location:
* %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
* %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

Although better you stay in the same thread - if you are going to quote it - it is probably better to do it in some easily followed format:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsupdate/browse_frm/thread/1578f2181882b03a
and
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsupdate/browse_frm/thread/aab4453f4ce25a5f
(Which you did not reply to...)
That should help view things in proper order.
Right now I don't have anything that MowGreen has not already thrown at you - but hopefully someone will more easily follow that than the quotes you had done. ;-)
