Re: After februari updates configuring updates at shutdown

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Robear,
FYI
Windows update Support was not succesfull.
They sent me a batch file WUfixVista11.cmd which i should run.
I did run this batchfile, did not solve the problem but got another problem my networkconnection did
not work anymore at all, a restore point made my system alive again.

After this they wanted me to do an upgrade, use Vista DVD and do upgrade.
I was very suprised and it happened what i expected, the upgrade told me you have already a higher version of windows
yes right I have Vista Ultimate SP1 en on DVD is Vista Ultimate.

So i told Windows Support i expected more professional help and told them to close the incident.
I did a new complete rebuild of Vista Ultimate , this solved the Windows Update problem and also my Vista is speedy again
with booting and shutdown.

Did Vista SP1 come preinstalled on the machine or did you install SP1 manually (i.e., not via Windows Update)? If the former, SP1 no-charge support is not available to you. However, no-charge support for security updates would be available to you (though they might "bounce" you back to the computer manufacturer). See [1] below.

KB937287 *may* apply to your Vista SP1 machine if it installs successfully. Save the download to your desktop, then right-click on the saved file and select "Run as Administrator" to install the package.

Assuming Vista, not Vista SP1, see:

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the
computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358

A software update is available for the Windows Vista installation software
feature:

Unlimited installation and compatibility support for Vista SP1 is available
at no charge but only through 18 March 2009!! (Today is 04 March so
you've got 14 days left!!)

and I can work normally on my pc.

but this configuring updates message appears every time at shutdown and
