Many of them are only kept because of votes given to the
opening question. So, they are often only retained for their
"Me too!" level, not necessarily because they have any
information value.
Meanwhile posts that do have information value are purged,
even ones that I have linked to in other replies! Then, the
only way to find what I was trying to point out is to reconstruct
the related Message-ID and do a Google Groups Advanced
search with it. Unfortunately, lately that procedure often fails
too.
