Re: KB967715 Not installed not offered anymore

It's the same patch but the applicability rules have been revised.

My WSUS 3.1 shows the following:

Revision 101
The applicability rules or prerequisites have changed. This type of change
means that the set of machines on which the new revision is offered may be
different from the set of machines on which the old revision is offered.

Well with the new updates from today, KB967715 is back. I did look to see
if the release info had changed but it did not. So I will watch a few days
and see if any more conflicts appear, if not I may try the update with a
the other KB number and see how that goes if not good then I will do the
manual reg configuration but that will be over the weekend.

If KB967715 is being re-released, you'll know about it soon enough, I'm
sure.

PS: You didn't hide KB967715, did you?

I do not plan to worry about it since it is not something I need on my
personal machine but I can tell you the registry key it is suppose to
create
has not been created and the update has shown as installed every since
day
one even though it was offered every day after that.

Just strange that it has quit being offered today. I thought maybe
someone
got word that the update had been pulled by Microsoft to be replaced
with a
fix tomorrow.

If "Security Update for Windows XP (KB967715)" is listed in Add/Remove
Programs *and* it is not being offered by Windows Update now, don't
worry
about it.

Hay all I am not sure what is going on but I was one of the early
posters
about the issue of KB967715 being offered over and over and the
registry
key
not being set.

Anyway I finally decided to ignore the issue and wait. I have not
attempted
to install the update again since March 1st.

Yesterday I did not go on my computer at all. Today when I fired it up
I
was
not offered the update any longer. To be sure I went to the windows
update
site and ran a custom scan and sure enough the update is not offered.

I never did get this thing installed successfully and the listing in
my
add
remove programs is not uninstallable.

So I wonder has Microsoft removed this update from availability and
and
are
they going to replace it with a new version? Possibly with tomorrows
normal
monthly updates?
