Vista SP-1 screwed up all my audio

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I installed it, and then all of my audio recording interfaces and midi
control devices stopped working. My recording software also no longer has
audio. Windows HD Audio stopped working. I downloaded new post SP-1 drivers
and still nothing. Do I need to revert back to pre-SP-1 updates? I'd really
like to totally just go back to XP cause so far VISTA has caused me nothing
but trouble and let a lot of viruses onto my system.
