System crashes after recommended updates

It's done this to me twice now. First time I accepted all, the second time I
took only the recommended and important options. However, each time is the
same result, it crashes after the reboot and I have to try to restore the
setting (has started after running the autofix twice and it telling me it
can't sort the problems automatically).

I now have a total of 17 updates that it wants to install and I can't log
off the system without it automatically trying to upload them when I do so.

Driving me nuts.
