I installed a Windows update this past weekend and now it seems

it runs slower than it did before the update was installed. Do you
have any idea what could have caused this and how do I fix it?
Assuming Windows XP:
Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> Check the "Show Updates" -->
Find the update you installed this past weekend (by date or name if you know
it and just decided to leave out more information than you already had) and
Uninstall it.
