I have been unable to update my system in the last two weeks with any of
updates available to XP since I've installed SP2. Can anyone share how
correct and or bypass these error code?
One possibility, will take about a minute to do.
Look in the \Windows\inf directory for a file called branches.inf. If
right click the file, check properties, and clear the read only box if
checked. The try to install the Windows updates to SP2.
