I tried looking for the branches.inf file but I can't find it!!!!I went to
windows/inf and theres nothing!!! what can I do to solve the problrm.. it's
making me crazy

One possibility, will take about a minute to do.

Look in the \Windows\inf directory for a file called branches.inf. If there,
right click the file, check properties, and clear the read only box if
checked. The try to install the Windows updates to SP2.
