Re: I can't install critical updates

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Try this fix from Microsoft Update Help:

Open Notepad and copy/paste the following lines....

---- Start code below

@echo off
cls

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll

pause

---- End code above

Now Save with "File type = ALL", and filename = FixUpdates.cmd

You can now run FixUpdates.cmd to fix Win Updates. I've used this in the past, it worked for me.

Please provide a list of *all* .txt files and .log files.
The tool attempts to install the WindowsUpdateAgent but, obviously,
something went awry. Let's check the logs before attempting to run the
tool once more, Maslow.
