Re: Winows Update finds NO updates

When I use Windows Update to search for critical updates only, the log
indicates no errors occurred but no updates are found. Could there be a
problem recognizing my installed Windows version? the log is inclded below

I am running Windows XP Pro Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3, v3311
Build 2600 on a X86-based PC with Internet Explorer Version
7.0.5730.11. For the past 3 months or so, I have received no
updates.

When did you install WnXP SP3? Did you install WinXP SP3 manually or via
Windows Update? Did you do a Repair Install or a Clean Install prior to
installing SP3?

I am running Windows XP Pro Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3, v3311
Build 2600 on a X86-based PC with Internet Explorer Version
7.0.5730.11. For the past 3 months or so, I have received no
updates.
Microsoft Update scans my system and reports no updates or errors.
According to Belarc Advisor I am missing 10 fixes; according to it,
the
last hotfix installed was KB915800-V4 on 7/9/2008
I ran the suggested WindowsUpdate Reset Tool. It ran successfuly; I
rebooted my system and reran Windows Update. Still no suggested
updates. I notice my update history is now cleared.
When I run the Microsoft Security Analyzer it indicates there are no
updates to be installed but then indicates the computer is not
running
a Windows OS system. I don't understand this - as I mentioned,
Windows
Update never indicates I am not running a Windows system, just says
there are no new updates - but the latest August updates for Windows
XP were never installed.
Automatic Updates also indicates no updates are needed. All of the
needed updates seem to be available through Windows Update only,
otherwise I would install them manually one-by-one.
