Yesterday I tried direct download.


Then your symptoms now will be completely different.
E.g. WindowsUpdate.log will not be relevant and as I mentioned
you may find more informed help in a newsgroup which
specializes in Office Update.

Tried 5 or 6
other fixes suggested in the threads including inserting my orginal disk in
my drive. Finally yesterday I uninstalled Office 2007, SQL, Live One Care and
Itunes. I have reinstalled them hoping a clean install also might work. No
luck. It's frustrating.

Looks like a bad update. Why not do a manual download
and install of the indicated updates--instead of using AU/WU?
That way you would get the full update and not whatever broken
chunks of it you are getting however you are doing it?

Also, then if you had new symptoms they would be completely
independent of WU/AU and you could look for more informed
help in an Office newsgroup. ; )
