i bought a new windows vista computer about 6 months ago. i was able to
install updates automatically, but since a few months ago everytime i try to
install updates i get the error code 800700c1.
I have looked for this error in Microsoft without success.
How? Generally with hex error codes you should also
search for them when prefixed by 0x. Also, if it seems
as if there is too much chaff in your search results from
others' questions and Me too! posts you can try filtering
out discussions which may have had useful inputs from
MSFT personnel or MVP posters.
For example, that technique finds posts from
avinash prasad (an explanation of the code)
and from poster Jonathan Sealby (a possible workaround
related to WU):
https://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=280278&SiteID=1
(Live Search for
(0x800700C1 OR 800700C1) (MSFT OR MVP) site:microsoft.com
)
Any help or tip will be greatly appreciated,
Regards
