Hi..
Have the same problem, But...
I found out. My Vista Ultimate can't go to real Admin mode.
If i try to start regedit it say.. File not found.
But i manage to start regedit in safe mode as real admin.
Most important update does not work now.

All this started when i got a uppdate some month's ago.
The uppgrade was ActiveX Killbits. KB950760

I Can't do anything that must enable Admin rights. Like upgrade and install.
Not even Administrator can enable Admin right.

Ps.
I have a identical computer on my office. This one still work.

recommend get those issues resolved before attempting to installed SP1

I simply cannot believe downloading the presumably vital service pack

proving impossible - and add this to my blue scrreens at start-up and
mid-programme use that make me hate this operating system - oh if only
it

problem-free XP back!
