To determine which service is failing veiw the summary log file at %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\Log\Hotfix. If you can figure out, post your summary.txt log to the forums.

Well I have no idea how to figure out which server is failing. I have a
business computer at home that is not on a network. (Only way I could get Win
XP on a new computer!) I don't even know if I need this SQL Server and I have
no idea how to get rid of it if I don't need it.
I have all this "administrator" stuff on the computer, which I do not use
and don't need, either.
So I have several "failed Installations" for Security Update for SQL 2005
Service Pack. They just keep coming and so do the "corrupt SQL or tampered
with" signs in grey, one after the other.
I am hoping one of you brilliant techies out there can advise me. This is
getting to be a very annoying issue.
Thanks for anything you can do. I am way over my head here.
