Re: Windows Update

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I am running Windows XP Professional. I installed update KB951748. I don't
have any anti-spyware or third party firewall installed. Just Windows
Firewall which I have turned off.

We're not mindreaders, Bryan. Unless you can tell us (1) your Windows
version, (2) what update(s) you installed, and (3) what anti-virus,
anti-spyware, and/or third-party firewall you have installed, you'll have to
seek assistance directly from MS.

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or
anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot, AVG
Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before attempting
to install the update(s). If you disable a third-party firewall, do NOT
connect to the internet without having the Windows Firewall enabled!

I do not have Zone Alarm installed on any of my computers. I think that is
what you were referring me to look at?

Sorry. I am unable to access the internet after installing the latest
updates. I spent 2 hrs. on the phone with tech support last night making
sure that all the settings on my computer were correct and everything
was
functioning properly. Everything checked out. I have un-installed the
recent
update and have done a system restore to a functioning day. As someone
else
recommended, I also tried resetting my broadband box. No joy. I have 3
computers plugged into the same wired router. 2 computers downloaded the
latest update the 3rd. did not. That one has no issues accessing the
internet. If you need any other specific info please let me know. I
would
like to get these computers up and running asap. Thank You

Everyone has the same problem but I can't seem to get mine resolved. I
have
tried un-installing the update from add/remove programs. I also tried
a
system restore all the way back to the 3rd. I still cannot get on the
net.
Any ideas......?
