Re: no sign of updates download or install

Thank you, TaurArian! I checked the Windowsupdate.log after reading the
Microsoft article, and it showed activity (of some sort) at the time I was
trying to download and then again a couple hours later. Still nothing
downloaded, however, as far as I can tell.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'm going to have the computer turned
off for a couple weeks after tomorrow and don't know if I should try to
manually download the latest updates or let it go until I get back to it, at
which time there'll no doubt be more updates.

I guess I'll wait til tomorrow to see what happens.

Do you think it would be worthwhile to leave the computer on overnight?

Thank you again!

Jo-Anne

Updates are not downloaded or the ?Automatic Updates? icon does not
display the status of
downloads when you enable the Automatic Updates service
http://www.support.microsoft.com/kb/910340

During periods of heavy download traffic, the Automatic Updates service
can reschedule
download requests on a day-to-day basis. This rescheduling can occur over
several days.
