Re: Update KB950125 Vista 64 Fails...

Yet another example of a Registry cleaner horking Windows! Think your Registry needs "cleaning" or "repairing"? Read http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 and draw your own conclusions.

If the free support techs can't help you out, you're probably looking at a format & reinstall now.

OK..update....System Restore did nothing to rectify this. I am sure its just
this KB, maybe MS will release a new version. Anyways Ive had to hide it for
the time being, so Ill keep monitoring whats happening to this.

Hi. I had actually used a Registry cleaner a couple of days ago, but have
never had any problems with it...been running it for 6 months. Ill see if I
can do a system restore back to that point and retry. Thanks.

Do you use a "Registry cleaner"?

I'd recommend that you open a free support incident about this, Chris.
See links in my previous reply. KB950125 was only released yesterday (24
Jun-08) so we don't really know that much about it here (yet).

Let us know how you make out, please.

Hi. Firstly to gga...that standalone did not work for me.
Secondly to PA Bear.....Vista SP1 was via Windows update. As I say, this
was
the only one that failed. There were 2 updates for Vista MCE. The first
one
went OK, the second failed. I restarted and tried again, but still
failed. The error code was:
80070643 relating to the Office Source Engine (OSE)...I dont have Office
installed whatsoever, LOL. Hmm, this is wierd.
Thanks for the replys..any other thoughts?

Did you install Vista SP1 via Windows Update or manually? Are you
seeing an error code associated with the failures?

Unlimited installation and compatibility support for Vista SP1 is
available
at no charge through 18 Mar-09
