If you have to ask, you're probably running x32. (You'd have paid quite a
bit more for x64.)

If %windir%\syswow64 <=this folder is NOT found, you're running x32.

I
run XP pro with SP3.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from
Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP
installation:

When I go to the start/help/windows update and click on update the only
thing that comes up on the screen is the word "undefined." I can get to
update if I don't use the start/help menu (but of course run into the
KB899589 problem). This same thing happened about a year ago and
someone
gave me a file or two to put in the "run" box and it seemed to fix it.
It
seemed to happen after I ran a "Net" something from Microsoft in order
to
install NY Times Reader. I recently had to use the recover disk, but
did
manage to use update for SP 3 before this "undefined" problem started.
I
run XP pro with SP3. Anyone know how I can access update again via
start/help/update?
