Hello,
I'm a newbie here (old lady) because my error message told me to
contact 'support'.

HP popped up with an upgrade offer, which I checked, because most of
them are for Vista now - which I don't have or ever want..........
I can't remember all, but it talked about XP SP3 update, so I said ok.
I have a Compaq XP Media Center 2005, not sure, but believe it came
with SP2 already?!

after the download this window popped up: "Error 1720 problem with
Windows installer package script required for this install, to complete
could not be run." Contact support.

What does SP3 supposedly fix?? Everything has been working just fine,
for the last 2 years. I'm 'home alone', it's my private office so I'm
the Admin and nobody else touches it. If I need it, I would like to
know how to install it, if not, I'm just as happy!!

SP3 incorporates all updates since SP1 in a single package. Thus, if you
need to reinstall XP, this package will save you a lot of time.

There are a few new items as well.

And, this newsgroup is not "Support".
