To store restore points, you need at least 300 megabytes (MB) of
free space on each hard disk that has System Protection turned on.
System Restore might use up to 15 percent of the space on each
disk. As the amount of space fills up with restore points, System
Restore will delete older restore points to make room for new ones.
System Restore will not run on hard disks smaller than 1 gigabyte
(GB).
Dangit!
I always forget that - I make a virtual machine and I know that the first
thing I should do in Vista is disable the System Restore (it is a virtual
machine - I already have a roll-back capability) yet I have forgotten on
virtually every Vista VM. *sigh*
Random thanks for the reminder TaurArian - even if that wasn't your
intention. Does explain why my current Vista VM disk grew to over 11.5GB...
almst 3GB of restore points thanks to doing the updates.
