Am wondering if there might be a solution out there from somebody
re: the amount of time it takes my Dell desktop to boot up and
become functional. It takes nearly ten minutes to get up and
running and I haven't figured out how to rectify the problem.
I have deleted unnecessary programs, run Disk Clean-up and
Defragmenter, etc. I have noticed that when I run my Ad-aware and
X-Soft Spyware that they both show 41+ processes running which
seems like a lot but I don't know how to determine which, if any, I
should eliminate. I first noticed this problem about a year ago
when I renewed my Norton Anti-virus package. I have tried to get
Norton to tell me if that is the cause but have not received a
helpful answer from them despite numerous queries. So, I am
seeking suggestions from a brighter person than me!
My system uses Winows Explorer 7; Pentium 4 and 2.66 Ghz
chip/processor; 60 gig hard drive (with only 40% used).
Amount of memory?
