Re: Vista SP1 auto update

I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I have been told that the auto
update should have installed it by mid-April. So far, it has not
been installed on my computer, nor does it show up as having been
made available as an update. Can anyone tell me when this will
occur?

Perhaps there is a reason.

Thanks, but... on the Microsoft website is the following (I cut and
will paste only a portion of what's there):
"The easiest way to update your Windows Vista-based PC with SP1 is
by using the Windows Update control panel. Just set Windows Update
to automatically download important updates and Windows Update will
download SP1 when it's available for your PC. (It could take a
month or more before SP1 shows up on your PC, so please be
patient.) After SP1 is downloaded you'll see an alert like this: "

TaurArian, based on that paragraph, it seems very clear that SP1 IS
available via Windows Updates. In fact, that is the method they
suggest as the preferred manner of installation of the Service
Pack. My question is, again, when is this going to occur?

Seriously - you need to read and comprehend what you were originally sent
to...

It explains why _YOU_ may not be seeing it. It's there for MANY other
people. You want to go through the causes and solutions on the web page
given - not just read the title.

Direct answer for your question: It's happening for most people right now -
has been for some time. It's not happening for *you* for some reason -
perhapsone of the ones on the web page TaurArian sent you to. You will need
to go to that web page, read up and follow directions there to troubleshoot
your issue... Or contact your computer manufacturer or someone you will pay
to fix the issue for you.
