I had 90% of my files backed up & what I did loose was really no big deal.
And as far as "blame" when using any machine you can expect glitches & such
but when a trusted cooperation such as Microsoft causes so many computers to
screw up after this last update it hard not to blame them. I have cruised the
internet today looking for others who have had this misfortune & it,s clearly
obvious that there was something in that update that shouldn't have been. I
have my computer up & running but it isn't right by any means.

Hello,.
Not having made any backups and losing data is your own choice so you cannot
blame Microsoft for this.
I am truly sorry but without any sufficient error reporting it is kind of
hard to help someone out.

It is definately NOT a driver problem or a boot problem. The latest
windows
update had a script error or at least that what my computer told me BUT
not
before I downloaded & installed the update. It prompted me to start up in
Safe Mode but when I would try, all I got was line after line of some kind
of
script. So, I had to reformat my computer losing everything on it. After
reformatting my computer is STILL screwed up & I have programs just
popping
up & starting on their own. I am p*ssed to say the least. Just wanted to
let you know that even after reformatting there are still some serious
issues
with my computer. I am very disappointed in Microsoft after this. Be
sure &
tell you computer tech about the problems before & after reformatting.

On two laptops, since downloading and installing the April updates,
Windows
XP will not start in either. Upon powering on, they both go through the
boot-up process and Windows XP begins to start. During the Windows XP
start-up, it fails, and returns to the boot-up process. This cycle runs
continuously but never gets to the Windows XP login screen. I've tried
options to run in Safe Mode, with and without in network, as well as last
configuration when Windows worked. Because I cannot get to the login
screen,
I cannot even get to a restore point. Also, I have already submitted a
request to Microsoft but after 24 hours have not received a reply. PA
Bear
seems really helpful. Hopefully, he knows how to fix this problem.
