Hi PA Bear,
I'm not able to install any driver updates, as I cannot logon to the pc.
It's a Dell OptiPlex 755, which came with a simple generic USB keyboard and
mouse. It's running Vista Business. I changed hardware, but no luck. It a
Dutch version, so SP1 is not avialable yet. RDP support is not active,
otherwise I should be able to run a RDP and do some workaround. I'm able to
access the drive and services through a 2003 box. But activated a lot under
services, but RDP still not avialable.
Thanks for your input.
Regards Dennis

Assuming Vista SP1:
A device driver is not installed, or a hardware device does not function
correctly after you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1

HELP, After automatic updates (yesterday), today multiple pc's have lost

save mode, nothing works! In the Bios I'm able to use the keyboard.
Swapped
hardware, no results. I want to try a system restore, but how to do
without
a working mouse and keyboard?
I tried to do a system restore via the command prompt (in safe mode) but
have to logon first. At that point keyboard or mouse input is already
impossible.
Could be that it persist in the INF files. I'm able to access the c:
drives
from a remote computer. See that an usbport.pnf resides from March 01
2008.
All the desktops are the same and on another this file has not been
updated.
Can I simply overwrite the file? Or am I not looking in the right
direction?
Noticed a lot changed files from 29 Februari 2008, which probably are
installed yesterday (when shutting down). The mouhid.sys and kbdhid.sys
are
newer, but I can't replace them as they are in use.
Please, any suggestions!
