..stuck in an indefinate loop"

I got a blue screen.."problem..file nv4_disp..driver got stuck in an infinate
loop...update driver..." Driver update failed 3 times. I have to turn
computer on/off/on/off/on dozens of times before WIN will try to start. Then
I get black screen (safe mode,etc). I've searched Help/Support for hours and
hours and tried everything I could figure out to do. Restore to previous
time, etc. Each time I try to "restart" it won't shutdown - I turn off, then
on/off/on/off/on etc. and I'm back where I started. I'm in safe mode w/
networking now and have saved my docs to copy to CD-R before I resort to
RECOVERY. The Wizard does not recognize the (new)inserted disk and can't copy
to the "empty" E:CD Drive. I don't know where to go for help.
